Students at Sardar Dastur Hormazdiar High School participated in a design contest to address global challenges. As part of the contest, students in 5th and 8th grade made over 1,300 paper bags and cloth bags which they distributed to 40 shops along a major road, creating awareness about the disadvantages of plastic bags through a street play and conversations with shopkeepers. The students' work in promoting sustainable bag alternatives was praised by those who learned about their efforts.

Ba(g)ck to Basic<br />Sardar Dastur Hormazdiar High School Participated in ‘Design for change school contest 2010’in which schoolchildren design solutions for the world greatest challenges.<br />Students of standard Vth & VIIIth prepared paper bags & decorated them. They also made cloth bags. Students of standard Vth collected canvas bags also. One thousand three hundred & eighty paper bags were made & distributed to 40 shops at M.G road along with cloth & canvas bags. Students enacted a street play in front of Budhani wafers shop at M.G road to create awareness among the people, regarding the disadvantages of plastic bags. They also explained the same to every shopkeeper individually. The work done by the students was appreciated by everyone.<br />
