This document discusses statutory bonuses and weekly allowances provided by the government to employees, pensioners, and retired workers in different situations. Employees receive €121.12 bonuses in March and September, while pensioners receive €81.12 divided into €3.12 weekly or €12.48 monthly. The document discusses the benefits of private pension plans compared to public pensions in Germany. It notes that public pensions will likely provide less each month than one's current salary due to fewer contributors over time and people moving back to their home countries. A private pension allows investments to be made on one's behalf, providing returns of 3-6% and helping to fill the gap left by lower future public pensions. The document provides examples of monthly investment amounts and total amounts that would be accumulated over 32 years under a private pension plan with annual increases of 2% to account for inflation.

The respiratory system allows for the intake of oxygen and release of carbon dioxide through a series of organs. Air enters the nose or mouth and passes through the pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi and bronchioles before reaching the alveoli in the lungs where gas exchange occurs. A number of muscles are involved in breathing including the diaphragm and intercostal muscles which expand and contract the thoracic cavity to inhale and exhale air. Proper breathing engages both the belly and chest and is connected to emotional well-being through the deep front fascial line. Slow breathing techniques like ujjayi pranayama can benefit those with respiratory conditions like asthma.

Many self-employed people will receive a grant through the new Self-Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS) this month. These payments can be up to £7,500 and will be counted as earnings under Universal Credit.
As a result, lots of self-employed households will be affected by the complex 'surplus earnings' rules for the first time. In short, these rules mean that for many households, the SEISS money will be taken into account as earnings not just for the month it was received, but for future months as well.
Welfare advisors need to understand the rules, and need a tool that can calculate eligibility all in one place, in order to advise people what their Universal Credit payments will be, and when they need to reclaim.
Hear from Sue McCarron from Citizens Advice Wirral who shared how frontline staff have supported customers facing with fluctuating income using the Benefit and Budgeting Calculator.

"Does Foreign Direct Investment Negatively Affect Preservation of Culture in the Global South? Case Studies in Thailand and Cambodia."
Do elements of globalization, such as Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), negatively affect the ability of countries in the Global South to preserve their culture? This research aims to answer this question by employing a cross-sectional comparative case study analysis utilizing methods of difference. Thailand and Cambodia are compared as they are in the same region and have a similar culture. The metric of difference between Thailand and Cambodia is their ability to preserve their culture. This ability is operationalized by their respective attitudes towards FDI; Thailand imposes stringent regulations and limitations on FDI while Cambodia does not hesitate to accept most FDI and imposes fewer limitations. The evidence from this study suggests that FDI from globally influential countries with high gross domestic products (GDPs) (e.g. China, U.S.) challenges the ability of countries with lower GDPs (e.g. Cambodia) to protect their culture. Furthermore, the ability, or lack thereof, of the receiving countries to protect their culture is amplified by the existence and implementation of restrictive FDI policies imposed by their governments.
My study abroad in Bali, Indonesia, inspired this research topic as I noticed how globalization is changing the culture of its people. I learned their language and way of life which helped me understand the beauty and importance of cultural preservation. I believe we could all benefit from learning new perspectives as they could help us ideate solutions to contemporary issues and empathize with others.
