Gospel boot camp part 1 (basic training)
Paul introduces himself as a servant of Christ Jesus called to be an apostle. He was set apart to preach the gospel of God, which was promised beforehand through the prophets. This gospel concerns God's Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was a human descendant of David but was declared the Son of God with power by his resurrection from the dead. Paul received grace and apostleship to call people from among the Gentiles to faith in obedience to Jesus Christ. Paul is obligated to preach the gospel to both Jews and Gentiles alike. He is not ashamed of the gospel because it is God's power to save all who believe, both Jew and Gentile.
Full-grown in Christ
Colossians 2:6-7 encourages Christians to continue living in Christ, being rooted and built up in their faith through teaching and overflowing with thankfulness.
