Sustainability with SAFe : Can SAFe be an accelerator of the sustainability t...Agile En Seine
Présenté en Français par Bruno Resseguier (Publicis Sapient) et Clémence Knaébel (Publicis Sapient) à Agile en Seine le 20 Septembre 2023
SAFe helps the business, by helping products go to market fast and productively. But what about the planet? Is SAFe doomed to help companies (more efficiently) add to the 4% of the world’s footprint created by digital, and increase (faster) the impact of e-commerce and travel booking?
Or can SAFe be the basecamp for companies to build sustainability in their decision-making in a systemic way?
We will discuss how the SAFe framework could…
– help translate sustainability strategy to sustainable products (think strategic themes, LPM, OKR…)
– build sustainability in day-to-day decision making (think sustainability NFR and acceptance criteria, sustainability-infused WSJF…)
– avoid waste in delivery by optimizing the system as a whole
Remember, customer centricity was the big jump between SAFe 4.0 and SAFe 5.0. Could sustainability be the big jump between SAFe 6.0 and 7.0? We won’t pretend it’s easy, and will look at the difficulty and even paradox of leveraging SAFe for sustainability. But we’ll invite the believers in SAFe’s potential to consider this opportunity and work on it with us.

Driving innovation in cities is critical to the future of economic growth and citizen engagement. Defining and executing a smart-city strategy is neither straightforward nor without risks – but the benefits can be significant. To start, a successful city transformation requires the right level of stakeholder engagement, clear priorities, and careful technology infrastructure planning. This session features Intel’s experience working with innovative partners to revamp cities around the world, and how digital technology helps bring vision to life.

Bambucluster's point of view on how IoT can be a key enabler of Smart Mobility/ transportation solutions. Presented on June 14th, 2017 at the the BrightTALK Internet of Everything summit:
https://summits.brighttalk.com/webinar/iot-enabled-smart-mobility-hype-or-reality/
Urban mobility has always been about moving people from location to location through motorized personal or public transport. However, the proliferation of sensors, smartphones and intelligent high bandwidth networks are compelling towns & cities around the world to re-think urban mobility and consider technology enablers to drive towards a vision of “smart” mobility. Furthermore, the fundamental assumptions underpinning mobility are being challenged.
The Internet Of Things (IotT) has been touted as a promising technology enabler to deliver on a vision of smart mobility. We will examine the current state of IoT ecosystems, IoT enabled smart mobility efforts across the globe and help delineate the architectural considerations and cross-industry industry collaboration that would be essential to successfully deliver on smart mobility initiatives. A simple use case around a town/city smart mobility service will be used to illustrate our approach.

"The methods of artificial intelligence and augmented reality have always been the substance of rumination and speculation since very recently, where they’ve started to take very a central role in our lives.
Intelligent technologies today are computer-aided systems that completely control all industrial pipelines. They can operate autonomously and on this account all processes can be managed independently.
Today’s logistics do not resemble one-way storage of goods seen up to a few years ago. This is due to new web technologies that allow an entirely new level of interaction within the moving parts of a given logistics eco-system. As these technologies continue developing at a rapid pace, several partially and fully automated logistic frameworks are already readying for deployment."
"When we compare Industry 4.0 advantages and classic ERP programs advantages We see below points ;
- Space-efficient storage. This will save in warehouse areas and volumes. Ex. Kardex Remstar applications, vertical storage solutions
- ERP’s are integrated warehouse management software.
So the error will be absolutely minimal. Prevention of losses due to lack of communication in monolithic systems that have one point of failure.
- Automatic and controlled product circulation. This will allow for increased work safety and fewer work accidents. This will naturally result in risk reduction resulting from controllability, especially in hazardous material logistics.
- Line feed, standby modules. So perfect stock management, “0” inventory loss.
- Automatic finished product warehouses. This will allow for unmanned warehouses, fast vehicle loading and unloading systems that can work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Cellular transfer storage systems.
For distribution centers and warehouse management systems that implement Industry 4.0 technologies, data needs to be collected, analyzed, acted on, and secured in order to partake in the data driven decision-making Industry 4.0 advertises."
The metaverse is a new digital revolution that combines physical and digital world to form an immersive and augmented metaverse world. Zuckerberg believes the metaverse is the next internet platform where we’ll shop, socialize, learn, play games and hold business meetings. Gartner predicts 25% of people will spend at least one hour a day in the metaverse by 2026. According to City Bank's report, the metaverse represents a potential $13 trillion opportunity by 2030, that could boast as many as 5 billion global users. To make the metaverse vision a reality, however, a socially, environmentally, economically responsible and sustainable metaverse development is imperative.
Agenda:
1. Building a Metaverse Responsibly
2. Building a Metaverse Sustainable
3. Balancing Responsibility and Sustainability and Profitability

The Challenge
The world is becoming increasingly urbanized. In 2030 more than 60%
of the people will live in cities. Cities also account for 70 per cent of
global carbon emissions and over 60 per cent of resource use.
A majority of carbon emissions is effected by urban mobility, which
also causes noise and congestion in our urban lives.
This calls for a substantial change. We support your changemaking
solution in sustainable mobility. Join us now!
