Hochuen Hybseal Evaluation
Overview of Project
Evaluated the feasibility of Hochuen becoming qualified as a
second source supplier
Projected $800K in potential savings annually if Hochuen is
qualified.
Hochuen’s Hybseal adhesion is not up to required specifications and
is the cause for continual cross-contamination within the beadarrays.Concern:

Constructed a fixture to conduct a pressure
force experiment on SD manufacturing.
Tested Hochuen for cross-contamination
and physical dimension verification.
Developed software to extract intensity data from typhoon imager to
determine which Dragonfish beadchips passed or failed cross-contamination.

Hochuen has decreased their Dragonfish Hybseal cross-contamination failures by 50%
