Abstract— In the context of conflict resolution, the
definition of "security" depends on one's perspective. At
the simplest level, security may be defined as "the quality
or state of being secure," "freedom from danger”, The
security gadgets we have are not so productive in various
aspects. Due to increased immense criminal activities new
innovations are need to be developed in security and
surveillance. To solve this we design a robotic bird that
records everything over the ground.These records can be
useful in some cases for investigation.

I. INTRODUCTION
Surveillance is the close observation of a person, group of
people, behaviours, activities, infrastructure, building etc for
the purpose of managing, influencing, directing, or protecting.
There are several different methods of surveillance, including
GPS tracking, camera observation, stake-outs, data mining and
profiling, and biometric surveillance among others.
II. EXISTING SYSTEM
Surveillance is one of the main factor that contributes to
security these days. Various surveillance gadgets placed in
crime prone areas are of much importance for the cases. This
makes surveillance a main contributor for security. Due to
technological advancement these days, there are many
surveillance gadgets that are being developed as a upgraded
version, for resolving the various disadvantages of their
predecessor systems. some of the surveillance gadgets that are
used now are
Closed circuit television (CCTV)
Dynamic Remotely Operated Navigation
Equipment(DRONES)

Equipment(DRONES)
Traditional observational surveillance methods are typically
limited by the stationary nature of the camera, which is usually
handled manually or fixed upon a tripod or other structure.
Aerial surveillance can be performed using a helicopter; whilst
this achieves the desired result, it is also very costly. To
resolve this an Unmanned aircraft systems provide the ideal
solution to the problems and limitations faced by other
surveillance methods. A drone is nothing but a An Unmanned
aerial vehicle (UAV) is a type of aircraft which has no
onboard crew or passengers. UAVs include both autonomous
drones and remotely piloted vehicles (RPVs). A UAV is
capable of controlled, sustained level flight and is powered by
a jet, reciprocating, or electric engine. The advantage of this
drones is that they are more cost efficient than arial
surveillance using a helicopter. These drones provide a decent
images at high speed.

Drones are advanced than their predecessors in several means
like resolution, tracking speed ,precision etc. So, they are
considered as a high level of surveillance these days. On the
other hand, drones are considered as an invasion of privacy in
the sense that they are constantly surveilling. Drones can carry
high-power zoom lenses,night vision,and see-through
imaging.Many people see drones flying over our homes as
spying on us while we conduct our everyday lives. Another
disadvantage is that the drones are supplied with a limited
amount of battery backup which fails at a crucial time.
2) Closed circuit television (CCTV)
Closed circuit television (CCTV) is a surveillance technology.
More specifically, it is "a system in which a number of video

- 2. cameras are connected in a closed circuit or loop, with the
images produced being sent to a central television monitor or
recorded". The term closed circuit television was originally
used to differentiate between public television broadcasts and
private camera-monitor networks. These days CCTV is used
as a generic term for a variety of video surveillance
technologies.

These CCTV footages are very useful in various cases in
every field either directly or indirectly. Various incidence that
changed the world are captured by these cameras. These have
several advantages as well as disadvantages. CCTV cameras
can lull home and business owners into a false sense of
complacency. While criminals might hesitate when they spot a
CCTV camera, they too realize that cameras have their limits
when they aren't paired with environmental hazard detectors,
electronic access control panels and alarms.
CCTV cameras can record a robbery or crime in progress, but
they can't do anything to actually stop the crime. It's important
to use cameras in conjunction with alarm systems so the
proper authorities can be alerted of the crime as it's being
recorded on the camera. Cameras by themselves can't prevent
victims from having to fill out police reports, filing insurance
claims and having to replace their stolen or destroyed
belongings. The stable nature of the cameras are the primary
thing which makes drones better than a cctv.
III. PROPOSED SYSTEM
In the existing surveillance system the monitoring device is
always kept fixed at a particular location(cctv camera’s) which
provides a major disadvantage to this kind of existing system
because the have to be fixed at every nook and corner for
better surveillance. While in the case of using the drones for
surveillance instead of these fixed surveillance cameras we
find two disadvantages :- the main problem is that the energy
requirement to power up these devices and the second one
which infact acts common to both is the naturality in using
these in practice. So we go for this proposed system that is
SARB
The idea is to improve the existing surveillance system
by capturing quality footage and to me mobile too. The
problem of the surveillance mainly comes in remote public
areas where we cannot fix cameras everywhere like railway
stations, borders of nation,etc., (mainly outdoors). Now to
avoid this SARB is first kept in a position where the maximum
angle of view for the area to be monitored is obtained.
1) Surveillance
The 3 cameras are fixed in the SARB,2 as eyes of the bird and
one at the forehead. The camera used is a night vision camera
so that it also enables us to do surveillance in these locations
during night times. Now the captured video is continuously
transmitted to the nearest surveillance centre where a person
keeps on monitoring using the footage. The fixed position is
supplied with a power supply so that it gives the power to
transmit the video footage. This is done by wireless charging
concept.

2) The camera adjustment
A rotator ball mechanism like the system we use in side
mirrors of our vehicles is applied to all the 3 cameras placed in
SARB which gets operated on the instructions sent from the
backend system for better viewing.
3) The battery problem
Now to overcome the battery problem of the drones in
exsisting system during time of flight the SARB is fabricated
using carbon nanotube material which internally acts as the
solar panels and provides ample power to increase its time of
flight. The nanotube material which is by default black in
color gives a nice fabrication to the SARB and also increases
the naturality and stability of the SARB and these material
provide high strength to the structure. These material also play
a major role in increasing the time of flight by reducing the
weight of SARB and increasing its time of flight since they are
very light compared to other materials such as aluminium
which are prominently used for making aerodynamic vehicles.
4) Image processing
Now at the surveillance station the observer keeps on tracking
the footage for any malicious activity if seldom occurs then
the observer just instructs the SARB to track the intruder to be
tracked then SARB uses image processing in the backend and
the system at the back end instructs the bird to track the
intruder using image processing so that it helps to find the
intruder as soon as possible.
5) The hunt
Now the working of tracking is such that as suggested above
several fixed points should be organized such that when the
SARB moves away from the previous location to the existing

- 3. location it sets for the next frame of footage. Now this is done
as follows:- each fixed point consists of a GPS module and a
charging port to charge the bird wirelessly. Now the backend
system senses the movement of the intruder and instructs the
SARB to fly away to the nearest fixed point from the intruder
to keep a track on him. Thereby by following the intruder till
the final scope in the footage definitely helps to trace the
intruder.

6) Naturality
Now in the above proposed system it is just a part of
advancement of the existing system the main fact is the
naturality which diversifies the proposed from the existing
system
IV. ADVANTAGES
1.Naturality with increased resolution.
2.Tracking of victims if any.
3.Mobility with increased speed.
4.Energy efficient as they operate in solar energy as well as
cost efficient.
5.privacy is not disturbed.
V. CONCLUSION
Surveillance has taken a prominent part in security of each
individual. This surveillance methods acts as a detterent to
crime and Apprehend a suspect when a crime occurs.So, this
surveillance is an important aspects of life that are to be
improved.This paper proposed a new method for improving
surveillance factor more than existing methods by using a
robotic bird.
