2. Introduction
 A family care practitioner with decades of experience, Manuel Marquez, MD,
leverages his linguistic and cultural knowledge to serve as a tour director at
Insight Vacations and as a group leader at Road Scholar. In addition, Manuel
Marquez, MD, volunteers as treasurer of the International Forum for
Psychoanalytic Education.
In 1991, the International Forum for Psychoanalytic Education (IFPE) formed
as a platform for engaging individuals interested in the field of
psychoanalysis, regardless of their educational background, certification, or
accreditation. Members of the organization come from a broad selection of
professions and interests, from the artistic and literary to the clinical and
academic.
Each year, the IFPE brings together its members for an interdisciplinary
conference. The 2017 event will take place November 9-11, 2017, at the
Lago Mar Resort and Club in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The conference will
feature a number of panels and presentations, and the forum leadership will
present three awards. During the meeting, attendees will also have the
