"Holocracia".

membresa ms fluida y roles/responsabilidades individuales).

Luis M an obese 63yearold man required daily insulin in.pdfacmcollection
Luis M., an obese 63-year-old man, required daily insulin injections for recently developed type 2
diabetes. His wife brought him to the emergency room early in the morning because he was
confused, breathing rapidly and having to urinate far more often than normal. Hes having one of
those acid attacks, she said. when everything gets out of balance. She further revealed that he
had not been careful about his dietthe night before he had gorged on pizza and ice cream and had
consumed 8 to 10 bottles of beer, becoming so inebriated that he went to sleep without taking his
insulin.
Vital signs included temperature of 39 degrees C (102.2 degrees F), heart rate 96 beats per
minute (normal 72), and blood pressure 90/60 (normal 120/80). Respirations were noted to be fast
and hard and his breath had an unusual apple juice odor. Luis was 5 ft 9 in tall and weighed 285
lb. He was drowsy and confused about time and place.
Lab tests revealed abnormally high blood glucose and low (acidic) blood pH. His urine was also
unusually acidic and contained large amounts of glucose and ketone bodies, neither of which
should normally be present.
In addition to the above abnormalities, Luis had high blood osmolarity (indicating increased blood
solutes), low blood bicarbonate, and low blood partial pressure of CO2. His urine also had a very
high specific gravity.
The emergency room physician made a diagnosis of diabetic ketoacidosis and admitted Luis to
the hospital. He was given insulin injections and large volumes of intravenous electrolyte solution
containing bicarbonate. Further studies failed to find infection or another underlying cause for his
fever.
Within 24 hours, Luis' blood pressure had returned to near normal. His breathing slowed to normal
and he became fully awake and coherent. Blood glucose had decreased but was not yet in the
normal range. Blood pH, bicarbonate and PCO2 also had returned to near normal. Urinalysis
revealed a stronger yellow color, less acidic pH, slightly positive glucose, and negative ketone
bodies. He was discharged on the third hospital day.
Although he is confused, Luis is still able to maintain bladder control despite the presence of a
significant volume of urine in his bladder. Which urethral sphincter is contracted and which is
relaxed? ____________________________________________

Luis' blood volume is decreased and his osmolarity increased. How will these changes affect

Peter Jonas a widowed and childless college professor age .pdfacmcollection
Peter Jonas, a widowed and childless college professor, age 40, had coronary bypass surgery ten
years ago. He made a fine recovery and returned to work with a very high level of involvement in
both college and community affairs. In the last year, his health has deteriorated badly. He has
developed congestive heart failure, which does not respond well to medication. His physician and
consulting cardiologist feel that another bypass operation will not restore him to the level of
functioning that he desires. The physicians recommend a heart transplant and have Peter placed
on a waiting list at a medical center. Peter has a family history of clogged arteries and he himself
has known diffuse cholesterol deposition in all arteries, so that the transplant, even if successful,
does not guarantee more than a few years of life. If he has to wait a long time for a transplant, it
may be necessary to put him on an artificial heart to keep him alive. This artificial heart causes
additional psychological and physical problems.
Is a transplant ethically indicated?.

Integrated Health was a large private nonprofit health care.pdfacmcollection
Integrated Health was a large private, nonprofit health care system located in Tempe,Arizona. A
year ago, the decision was made to implement a computerized medication administration record
(MAR) at Integrated Health. During the first year, the MAR system would be implemented at
Central Hospital of Tempe. After the bugs were worked out, the computerized MAR would be
implemented system-wide. The MIS department at Central Hospital was designated as the initiator
and direction setter for the project. Art Smith, the Chief Information Officer at Central Hospital
assigned Kate Cohen, a programmer/analyst, as project leader. Kate had the responsibility for
developing and implementing the MAR project at Central. Kate did the programming work for the
MAR and assembled a team from Pharmacy Services, Nursing Services, and Internal Auditing.
Members of the project team provided feedback on the software, made suggestions related to
user training, and worked on an implementation schedule. Both team members and outside
observers recognized the difficulty in developing and implementing the MAR in one year. Nurses
antagonism toward the project surfaced after their suggestions and recommendations were
rejected without explanation. The MAR project was also affected when a management shakeup
occurred during the project development phase. The MAR was implemented and immediately
failed. By 10:00 a.m. on the first day of the implementation, users complained that the system did
not work and was too complicated. After hearing nurses complaints, physicians expressed
concern about patient safety. At 1:30 p.m., Central Hospitals computer system crashed, and the
MAR project was suspended. Early the next morning, we find Kate contemplating what she is
going to say when she meets with Central Hospitals management group later in the afternoon.

1 Capture a live video feed of 720p resolution at 30 fps fr.pdfacmcollection
1. Capture a live video feed of 720p resolution at 30 fps from the device camera. You can use
WebCodecs API1 for web or MediaCodec API2 from Android3 to encode frames with h.264
encoding with 5 Mbps bitrate levels.
2. Upload the captured frames to a web server reliably on-the-fly.
Segment the original live feed into a number of self-contained 3-second-long MP4 segments
before uploading to the server. Segmentation can either be done first, before the upload, or in
parallel, together with the upload. We recommend to do everything in paralell using MediaCodec
API.
Use the HTTP POST method to deliver the segmented MP4 video feed to the server. The server
has to store the video segments in a video repository location (i.e., directory), which you define. To
keep track of the uploading status, you may use a PHP and MySQL database. For segmentation,
you can use any segmentation tool such as ffmpeg4 or MP4Box5 .
For you to understand the internal structure of the MP4 format, we intentionally ask you to
segment the video at the web client (i.e., at your laptop/desktop), not at the server. To segment
the video, you may use third-party libraries such as MP4Parser6 To upload the video segments
reliably, you are required to design a simple protocol on top of HTTP for guaranteed delivery, such
as checking the current upload status or providing segments with a sequence number.
The following are additional functionalities that the web app can provide, which will receive extra
credits:
3. Provide a resumed upload when the network connection is interrupted.
4. Retrieve the list of the uploaded videos available from the web server.
5. Videos should be playable live onto the client device during a session as well as stored on the
server for on-demand playback.
Detailed Tasks (13 marks) The web application, running on laptop/desktop, is required to provide
the following sub-task: 1. Capture a live video feed of 720p resolution at 30fps from the device

Early the next morning, we find Kate contemplating what she is
going to say when she meets with Central Hospitals management group later in the afternoon.

detectar la sustancia prohibida, sus exportaciones de miel seran rechazadas en Canad y Europa.
Cuando Pincombe colg el telfono, estaba particularmente preocupado por satisfacer las

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
