Underground Mining Equipment for Becker SMC
I was responsible for concept through fabrication of
underground electrical mining equipment.
Durability, usability, maintenance, cost, and safety
were all design considerations. I worked closely
with electrical engineers, fabricators, and customers
in identifying design criteria and issues which
included placement of electrical components, size
limitations, budget constraints, cooling of
components, ease of maintenance, as well as
possible upgrades and improvements as new
technology emerged. These units were typically
fabricated from structural steel and sheet metal.

I designed the layout instrument panel integrating a
variety of optional configurations while meeting
specific FAA regulations as to placement and
visibility. I also designed the fit behind the panel
which included structure for the instruments as well
as wiring harnesses.

I designed this DNA Synthesizer while
working at Theta Resources. The design
object was to create an instrument that
could house a series of reagents with easy
access to change them as required while
maintaining a clean and aesthetically
pleasing design with a simple human
interface.

This is a sample collection container used
to collect and send samples through the
mail from remote locations. The bottle was
design in such a way that the container
locked the lid in the only logical fully
closed position eliminating contamination
or loss of sample while being shipped. The
collection bottle also served as the
processing container in the lab.

This staircase was designed in Solidworks collaborating with an architect, structural engineer, and
fabricator. I was hired to take the architect's conceptual sketch and create a workable design including
fabrication drawings and details. There were three separate staircases in this project each having different
design and structural requirements.

Schaumburg Flexadux Corp
My work for Schaumburg has been to create
documentation that they could use for regulatory and
illustrative purpose. This evolved creating CAD
models and drawings from existing products.

Adobe Home
I designed and built this adobe home in Cedaredge, Colorado. It incorporates passive solar, energy
efficiency, abundant use of natural materials, and a comfortable and functional aestheticly pleasing interior.

This is one of 5 adobe homes I have built in Cedaredge, Colorado. My homes have incorporated passive
solar design, and abundance of natural local materials, energy efficient construction and mechanical systems,
and comfortable, functional, aesthetically pleasing interiors.
