LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

1. PROPOSAL 2prepared by Cham Zheng Chee
Creating a space whereby nature and mankind live as one.
SUGGESTION FOR PROPOSAL: RECREATIONAL AND COMMERCIAL AREA
OBJECTIVE
The objective of this project is to provide a healthy environment by changing the
resident’s lifestyles through the addition of nature and fully operational facilities. These
days, people of all ages are immersed in a stressful lifestyle and a deteriorating
environment. It is important for people to find balance in their lives. Therefore, it is
crucial to create a space for the community, that would allow them to relax and engage
themselves in the natural environment that is added to the space. It is our vision to
incorporate nature to the community and neutralize the stress that people have
experienced throughout their day. We would like to introduce to the residents a healthy
lifestyle that includes greater engagement with nature and the community.
PROJECT BENEFITS
The people will be able to live in a relaxing and comfortable environment with the
provided facilities and the incorporation of nature in the area. As Putra Height is a very
large residential area packed with various types of residential properties and a few parks,
we find it reasonable and useful to create another space for the residents to gather and
relax after a long hard day. Thus, we have designed a space nearby the residential area,
2. which is convenient and easily accessible for the residents to enjoy being nature and all of
its offerings.
It is imperative that people are able to find balance within their lives. Many people
take their health, relationships with families and friends for granted as a result of their
occupation with their hectic lives. By creating this accessible space for relaxation, it will
be convenient for families to come to Green Acres to exercise, get together and unwind.
Additionally, by creating and designing a beautiful environment, we are hoping that
the natural elements will be able to draw surrounding families to use the facilities of
Green Acres as means of relaxation. This way, our main objective of providing a healthy
space and environment to the community and improving the individual’s lifestyle will be
fulfilled.
Parks and recreation facilities are indeed the best places that people go to get healthy
and stay fit. A study by Penn State University showed significant correlations to reduction
in stress, lowered blood pressure, and perceived physical health to the length of stay in
visits to parks. Aside from that, parks and protected public lands are proven to improve
water quality, protect groundwater, prevent flooding, improve the quality of the air we
breathe, provide vegetative buffers to development, produce habitat for wildlife, and
provide a place for children and families to connect with nature and recreate outdoors
together. Thus, we believe that Green Acres will be a highly beneficial addition to the
people living in Putra Heights.
SUCCESS CRITERIA
Project success criteria are the standards by which the project will be judged to
3. decide whether or not it has been successful in the eyes of the stakeholders. The
following are the success criteria by which this project will be judged: -
- All people involved in the construction project carried out constant inspections on site
throughout the whole construction process;
- All the materials arrive on site on time;
- Documentation gets approved on time;
- All tasks are completed to satisfactory standards within budget and time;
- All relevant authorities involved in the construction project has communicated well with
each other.
4. INTRODUCTION TO SITE
The site we have chosen is an empty and an undeveloped land. We have decided to
develop this land as it is surrounded by part of the residential area in Putra Height. The
site is surrounded by a lot of roads which makes it accessible for the residence to enter
that area. Another reason we chose the site is that it is a wide empty land which will
provide to be very flexible and would allow us to best bring our vision to live.
> The view of our site from the road. > The location plan.
> The site is covered with weed and it needs to be clean off before construction project
starts.
5. CONCEPT CREATION
To create a relaxing area for the residents, we must first understand the people’s
needs. It is essential to begin by understanding the human nature, before creating the
space for people. The concept and ideas that Green Acres would like to express is by
providing a space where people can be fully immersed in an environment with a peaceful
ambient. There is a need to create such a space for the residents of Putra Heights as it will
allow people the opportunity to find more work/ life balance, which would lead to greater
happiness. We envision a space whereby families and friends can gather, bond and
exercise over various activities carried out together. It will be an accomplishment to be
able see the residents of Putra Height fully immerse in nature’s offerings.
PROJECT CONCEPT
i) Back To Nature
Nowadays, people are just too busy with their own lives and have come to neglect
the concept of rejuvenation. Nature is one such means we will be able to rejuvenate. It
provides us the most important thing, which is oxygen. It gives us stunning landscapes.
Nature is so important to us, and has yet became such a natural part of our lives, that we
have begun to take its existence for granted. In Green Acres, it is our objective to allow
people to increase their appreciation for nature. We have focused a lot on the greenery
and have applied it into designing the space of Green Acres. Water features are also
implemented into this area in order to give a cooling effect to the surrounding
environment; and to enhance the space by giving it a sense of calmness. Natural lighting
6. is also a big part of the design as we want to incorporate natural sunlight as part of the
lighting within the building to create a warm environment. We are moving towards the
green living concept that we wish to introduce to the residents. By providing a green
environment in Putra Heights, people will gain greater appreciation for nature’s treasures.
Children will be able to enjoy the greenery in their surrounding environment from their
tender age.
ii) A Peace Of Mind
It is far too easy to let ourselves get caught up in the stress of daily life. Whether it be
from a hectic work day, or a busy day at school, nothing is so important that you would
need to sacrifice your health and well being. Stress can be detrimental to our health as we
may begin to forget to care for our bodies. This is why we wanted the residents to be able
to unwind and separate work from play at end their day. We are focused on creating a
Green Acres as the ideal location for relaxation. We have created a different kind of
recreational area, which will be located above the coffee shop, Creatures Comfort. We
want the residents to have a good view of the existing beautiful environment that they
have been living in with an elevated and enhanced perspective. We want the people to
come in with a peace of mind, leaving the place with a smile on a face. It is important to
offer the people the relaxation they need in order to find the balance in their lives.
7. RATIONALE AND BENEFITS
This project is built to cater to the people’s needs. We always have a design
philosophy in mind that mankind and nature should live as one. An extraordinary living
experience should not be defined only by what is within the walls of schools, offices, or
homes. But, it is also about the relationship that we can build together with the nature and
its offerings. It is for that reason that, through Green Acres, we would like to implement
the beauty of nature in to the living space of people.
The relationship between nature and human beings has been slowly drifting apart as
busy lives get in the way. We want to create a place with an atmosphere that provides the
most natural and relaxing feeling for all residents, giving them an opportunity to
experience nature daily. Apart from that, we would like to design an environment
whereby we are able to promote healthy living by providing facilities that would allow
residents to exercise and keep fit, engaging them in healthy lifestyles. Our focus is on two
main ideas which is to bring the rejuvenating nature through creating recreational areas;
and combining it with an environment in which residents can relax, this being the coffee
shop - to fulfill our objective of reintroducing a healthy lifestyle and nature to Putra
Height through the creation of Green Acres.
8. DESIGN INSPIRATIONS
This will be the desired overlook of Green
Acre. The design of the building is clean
and clear. It has wide spaces around the
building, adding in the swimming pool
and some greenery to the surrounding
environment.
The main entrance will be big and
filled with greenery. This design is to
show that the Green Acre gives a warm
welcome to the residents of Putra Height.
Green Acre would like to promote the
green living into the community.
Therefore, the rooftop is covered with turf
and it is an open space for the recreational
park to be featured in it. It is spacious
allowing the people to carried out any
activities.
The design of the cafe in Green Acre,
Creature Comfort focuses on the cozy
atmosphere.The cafe plays around with
the placement of lights to give a
comfortable and relaxing feeling.
9. The cafe will be filled with some wall
glass to bring in the natural sunlight and
enlighten the environment.
Natural elements like the trees are
implemented in the interior design of the
cafe. We would like to bring the nature to
this urbanized area.
The Green Acre would like to keep the
recreational park simple and stunning by
incorporating modern design to the
facilities of the park.We would also like to
focus on our design concept which is to
blend in the nature into the human living
space by adding greenery to the
environment.
10. ‘GREEN ACRE’
The word ‘Green’ represents the green and healthy environment, and the word ‘Acre’
is a unit of land area used in the imperial and U.S. The combination of these two words
simply means that the undeveloped land is now being wisely used for the benefits of the
resident’s in Putra Heights.
THE CAFE - ‘ CREATURE COMFORT ’
The full definition of these two words, ‘ Creature Comfort ’ means something (as
food, warmth, or special accommodations) that gives bodily comfort. The cafe is
specially designed with a comfortable and relaxing ambient.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, it is not easy to complete a construction or a project without the
coordination and communication among the team players involved in the project,
carrying out site analysis to fully understand the conditions on site, and researches
regarding the suitability of a particular project or construction on site. There are so many
considerations and task must be done before starting any kind of project, to aid
throughout the process of the project and upon achieving a successful completion.
Other than that, exploration of ideas and options to a particular site is also important.
One should not be confined with only one answer, but exploring more possibilities that
can be done to fully utilize the space, in order to create a space which has a higher
beneficial value for the people at that particular area.
Last but not least, after several consideration and carrying out the site analysis, the
15. Green Acre will be the most suitable option to be build at our site. By having such a great
site, surrounded by the residential area, connected by main roads leading to a high
accessibility, makes it the best place to create a space providing a healthy environment by
changing the resident’s lifestyle through the addition of nature and fully operational
facilities.
