Ice dyeing is a process that uses ice as a resist to create organic color patterns on fabric. The item is scrunched up, covered in ice, and then powdered dye is applied. As the ice melts in the sun, it allows the dye to absorb into the fabric below in unique patterns. Multiple rounds of icing and dyeing can be done to build up complex patterns that are revealed once the item is rinsed.
