The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George's County will host their 15th Annual 5K Walk/Run on September 24th at Watkins Regional Park to raise funds for research on breast cancer, diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, and bone marrow transplants. The entry fee is $35 before September 10th and $40 after, with lower rates for youth. The event will include a line dance, awards ceremony, and health fair. Proceeds will support programs helping women, men, and children fighting various illnesses.

Ivy Community Charities Sponsors 5K Walk/Run Promoting Awareness of Breast

The Ivy Community Charities of Prince George’s County, Inc. (Charities), the
philanthropic arm of the Iota Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority,
will host its 15th Annual 5K Walk/Run For the Health of It, on Saturday, September 24,
2011, at 9:00 a.m. at Watkins Regional Park, Upper Marlboro, Maryland. The proceeds
will help fund critical programs helping women, men and children fighting breast cancer,
diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease and those in need of marrow transplants.
The entry fee for the event is $35 before September 10, 2011 and $40 after September
13 and through the day of the event. The entry fee for youth in Grades 7-12 is $15 and
$10 for youth in Grades K-6. The donations made toward the walk are 100% tax-
deductible.
The event will also feature a line dance clinic for non-walkers, an awards ceremony and
