1. Briefly describe your accomplishments over the year 2023/24 within the scope of your job?
As an Assistant Professor in the Chemical Engineering Program over the past year, I've accomplished
several key milestones:
1. Teaching Excellence: Delivered innovative courses that blend theoretical knowledge with practical
applications, students are happily understanding with my teaching.
2. Research Advancements: Published two research articles and one review article and 4 articles
reviewed in prestigious journals, also three patents granted and one is submitted, contributing to the field's
knowledge base and establishing collaborations with IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Kanpur, Ahmedabad
University, PDEU and UPL University researchers.
3. Grant Acquisition: Secured funding for ongoing research projects 50 Lakhs, demonstrating
expertise in grant writing and project management. Four research grants have been submitted of 1.41
Crores at different research bodies.
4. Student Mentorship: Advised and mentored undergraduate and Phd students in their academic and
research pursuits, fostering a supportive learning environment. Guided 2 SSIP students and filed one
patent from it.
5. Professional Development: I participated and presented at two conferences in Gandhinagar, where
I received the award for best oral presentation. Additionally, I attended two short-term courses at PDEU.
6. Community Engagement: Engaged in outreach activities to promote IAR University in schools,
colleges and especially in diploma colleges. I participated in the Gujarat Council on Science and
Technology (GUJCOST) event and represented IAR University at Mahatma Mandir, Convention and
Exhibition Centre during Gujarat Vibrant. Additionally, I promoted IAR University at the Startup
Conclave 2023 and Gujarat Vibrant 2024 at Helipad Exhibition Centre, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Moreover, I
organized an industrial visit for 125 students to the Savli Technology and Business Incubator (formerly
Savli Bio-Incubator) at GIDC, EPIP-CFC Building, Manjusar, Savli, Gujarat 391775, on March 1st and
2nd, 2024.These accomplishments reflect my dedication to academic excellence, research impact, and
fostering the next generation of engineers.
2. What difficulties, if any, you have faced in carrying out your work? Were there any difficulties outside
your own control which prevented you from performing effectively?
Sometimes, I encounter challenges in characterizing my samples using XRD, XPS, and SEM analysis.
These services are either unavailable nearby or difficult to access due to scheduling constraints. However,
there are no external factors beyond my control that have prevented me from performing effectively in this
regard.
3. Any additional remarks or suggestions for overall improvement of IAR University?
1. Enhance Research Facilities: Invest in state-of-the-art research equipment and facilities to
support cutting-edge research across disciplines. This can attract top researchers and enhance
collaboration opportunities. BioNest might fulfill this need.
2. Expand Industry Partnerships: Strengthen partnerships with industry leaders to facilitate
internships for 8th
semester engineering students, collaborative research projects, and job
placements for students. This connection can also inform curriculum development to align with
industry needs.
3. Enhance Student Support Services: Improve support services for students, including career
counseling, academic advising, mental health resources, and extracurricular activities. Offer
scholarships to PhD students, enabling their participation in practical and teaching responsibilities.
PhD students can also assist faculty members with administrative tasks, such as updating websites
and facilitating undergraduate and postgraduate student recruitment processes.
4. Engage Alumni and Donors: Strengthen relationships with alumni and donors to secure financial
support for scholarships, research grants, and campus improvements.
