Senior Support Analyst 2008 - 2015
 Programming using VB6 and Micro Focus COBOL, working on a variety of tasks ranging
from system maintenance to projects in response to customer demand.
 Working with on-shore and off-shore support teams to identify defects in the software and find
solutions.
 Analysis and distribution of tasks for off-shore programmers. This involves writing
technical specifications for off-shore programming team and checking their work.
 Led 2-man team with responsibility for fixing defects in the software and providing support
to the help desk team in resolving client queries that the help desk team were unable to
resolve. As well as keeping pace with new work, cleared a 4 year backlog of existing
defects to reach a point whereby for the first time in the system's 28 year history, there were
no reported defects waiting to be fixed.
 Assumed responsibility for 3 client accounts. This involved consultation to ensure that clients
were getting maximum benefit from the system, dealing with client queries and maintaining
good relationships with clients.
 Meeting with clients to assess their needs and wishes, and in response to these, writing
functional specifications to pass back to clients for approval and writing technical
specifications from which the programmers would write the necessary code and testers
would perform the necessary testing.

system and new KINNECT system written by third party software company for Lloyd’s of
London.

 Assisted help desk team when short-staffed. Involved answering queries over the phone and
investigating problems that were reported.
