contract with the Carteret County Shore Protection Office, NC (March, 2016).
Conducted both topographic and hydrographic surveys as a Survey Technician along barrier islands in the area of
Carteret County, NC, for the purpose of annual beach and inlet monitoring. Data acquisition of beach profiles using
a Trimble 5700 RTK-GPS backpack coupled with singlebeam data were combined and processed in Hypack to
create a complete profile to be delivered to the client as part of an online coastal science data portal.
Geodynamics, LLC.
Survey Technician and Data Processor under contract with USACE, Wilmington, NC to acquire multibeam
data of the Wilmington Harbor as part of an annual monitoring survey (November, 2015-January, 2016).
Conducted multibeam and singlebeam surveys as part of the Long-term Beach and Shoreline Management Program.
The surveys included hydrographic, topographic and geophysical sub-bottom data collection with numerous surveys
in the span of 3 months.
Geodynamics, LLC.
Survey Technician under contract with the United States NAVY on Jacksonville Operational Range Bottom
Mapping and Benthic Habitat Characterization (October 2015).
Conducted multibeam bathymetry, side scan sonar and sub-bottom profiling along the Trunk Cable Corridor to
establish a route for cable lay that avoids critical habitat areas to be delivered in a GIS database format to be
analyzed by the client.
NOAA Biogeography Branch,
Survey Technician aboard the NOAA Ship Nancy Foster, New London, CT (September 2015), mapping
Essential Fish Habitat in the Long Island Sound to Inform MPA Management.
Volunteer through The College of Charleston BEAMS Team to work under direct supervison of Laura Kracker
(Geographer, NOAA Center for Coastal Environmental Health and Biomolecular Research) as a Survey Technician
to complete a hydrographic survey of the Long Island Sound using Multibeam (CARIS) as well as Backscatter
(Fledermaus). Bathymetry and backscatter used to determine permits for regulations of fisheries habitats in the
Sound.
Geodynamics, LLC and the College of Charleston BEAMS Research Cruise.
As part of the College of Charleston’s BEAMS Team, students had the opportunity to sail with Geodynamics to gain
field experience aboard the R/V Savannah to acquire multibeam and sidescan sonar data to map mid-shelf
hardground fish habitats off the Georgia coast.
