Médecins Sans Frontières was founded in 1971 by French doctors and journalists who provided medical aid to Biafra during the Nigerian Civil War. They establish principles of neutrality, operating without political, economic, or religious motives and take on risks to provide humanitarian aid such as vaccination campaigns, AIDS treatment, health centers and providing food, clean water and hygiene. Their humanitarian work was recognized with the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize and inspires courage in aiding everyone without distinction.
