Bono, lead singer of U2, is known for his humanitarian efforts in Africa. He has raised money to help pay off Africa's national debt, relieve Ethiopian famine, and fund AIDS programs. He co-founded organizations like DATA, EDUN, and ONE Campaign to bring about equality, strengthen democracy, adjust trade rules, lower Africa's debt, employ locals in Africa, and increase funding for international AIDS programs. Bono is also an active spokesperson for Product Red, which partners with companies to make products that raise money for diseases in Africa.

1. Humanitarian: Paul Hewson Better known as Bono, Paul Hewson is the lead singer for the Irish band, U2. He was born in Dublin, Ireland on May 10 th 1960. He got his nickname, Bono, from the latin term Bono Vox which means “good voice”.

4. EDUN EDUN is a “socially conscious clothing company”. They focus on employment and trade with developing regions, such as Sub-Saharan Africa. Bono started this group with Ali Hewson, his wife, and Rogan Gregory.

5. ONE Campaign ONE is a non profit organization that aims to increase government funding for international AIDS programs. Currently, ONE is campaigning for resources to help developing countries adapt to climate change. Bono was not a leader in this organization, yet he takes part in it becuase it joined with DATA in 2007.

6. Project Red Product Red teams up with companies, such as American Express , Apple Inc. , Starbucks , Converse , Motorola , Gap , Emporio Armani , Hallmark , Microsoft , and Dell . The companies then make a product with a Product Red logo. The aim is to raise money for diseases such as Malaria, AIDS, and Tuberculosis. Bono is an active spokes person for the cause.

7. My Feelings All in all, Bono is a great man who cares about the world. He helps with decreasing Ethiopan famine. Also he raises money for the poor people of the world. Personally, I think he has a good singing voice also.
