Reliance upon Allaah is something that has an immense impact on a person; it is an implication of belief and is one of the finest deeds and acts of worship by which the slave can draw close to Allaah, the All-Merciful; It is one of the highest ranks of Islaamic monotheism because nothing can occur except through one relying and depending upon Allaah for it to do so.

Allah has revealed the means of invoking Him in the Holy Qur’an: “O you who believe! Do your duty to Allah and fear Him. And seek the means of approach to Him, and strive hard in His Cause (as much as you can), so that you may be successful” [Al-Ma'idah 5:35]
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱبۡتَغُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ ٱلۡوَسِيلَةَ وَجَـٰهِدُواْ فِى سَبِيلِهِۦ لَعَلَّڪُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ
Transliteration: Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo ittaqoo Allaha waibtaghoo ilayhi alwaseelata wajahidoo fee sabeelihi laAAallakum tuflihoona
Al-Hafiz Ibn Katheer, may Allah bless his soul, in his book (Interpreting the Holy Qur’an), explained this verse saying: Allah commanded His faithful slaves to fear Him, which if connected to obedience, was intended to stop committing sins and abandon the forbidden.

None has the right to be worshiped except You. You created me, and I am Your slave/worshiper. And I am faithful to my covenant and my promise as far as I am able. I seek Your refuge from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge before You all the favors
that You have bestowed upon me. And I confess all my sins to You. So forgive me, since none can forgive sins except You.’
The Prophet said, “Whoever says it in the day, with firm conviction in it, and dies in that day before evening – then he is from the people of Paradise. • The Path of those on whom
You have bestowed Your Grace,
not of those who earned Your
Anger, nor of those who went
astray.
3. It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet (SAW) said: “Whoever
offers a prayer in which he does not recite Umm al-Kitaab (al-Fatihah), it is
defective” – and he repeatedly said it three times.
It was said to Abu Hurayrah: (What if) we are behind the imam? He said,
Recite it to yourself, for I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say:
“Allah said: I have divided prayer between Myself and My slave into two
halves, and My slave shall have what he has asked for. When the slave says:
Al-hamdu lillahi rabbi l-alamin, Allah says: My slave has praised Me.
And when he says: Ar-Rahmaan ir-Raheem, Allah says: My slave has
extolled Me and when he says: Maaliki yawm id-deen, Allah says: My slave
has glorified Me - and on one occasion He said: My slave has submitted to My
power.
And when he says: Iyyaaka na’budu wa iyyaaka nasta’een, He says: This is
(a contract or a promise) between Me and My slave, and My slave shall have
what he is asking for.
And when he says: Ihdina’s-siraata’l- mustaqeem, siraat alladheena an’amta
alayhim ghayril-maghdoobi alayhim wa la’ d-daalleen, He says: This is for
My slave, and My slave shall have what he has asked for.”
[Sahih Muslim]
