My name is Rui Wang. I'm a master student at CMU majoring in Electrical and Computer Engineering. As I graduated this May 2016, I am now seeking for full-time job opportunities.
During my undergraduate and graduate study I did many projects, such as Android app development, Java application development, web crawler and so on. By doing these projects, I was able to equip myself with a skill set of programming languages such as JAVA, Python, C/C++, and Matlab. In my graduate studies at CMU, I worked on distributed system and I continued developing android apps and Java development.Java for Smart Phone Development helped me improve my Java coding techniques, during which I participated in an Android application project. Numerical Methods for Engineering Design and Optimization offered me an important tool to solve many practical engineering problems and different optimizing algorithms. Coding Boot Camp taught me very useful algorithms and data structure to solve realistic problems and analyze the complexity of the solution which can help me to develop some other solutions with better performance. Thanks for your interest on me!

Stefan Judis "Did we(b development) lose the right direction?"Fwdays
Keeping up with the state of web technology is one of the biggest challenges for us developers today. We invent new tools; we define new best practices, everything’s new, always... And we do all that for good user experience! We do all that to build the best possible web – it’s all about our users.
But is it, really? Or do developers like to play with technology secretly loving the new and shiny? Or do we only pretend that it’s about users, and behind closed doors, it’s developer experience that matters to us? Did we lose direction? Is it time for a critical look at the state of the web and the role JavaScript plays in it?
Chrome DevTools are a set of free tools built directly into the Google Chrome browser, that offer developers and SEO specialists exceptional insights into underlying SEO issues. Beyond responsive design - UI for the modern web applicationPete Smith
Applications written for the modern web are being consumed not just on desktop browsers, but also on a myriad of other devices... even watches and glasses. If you design your application with a pc screen in mind, at worst you're either cutting your userbase in half or setting yourself up for an expensive redesign.
In this talk I'll introduce you to some modern web design constructs, and the technologies that bring them to life. Learn how to create apps that work just as well on phone, mobile and desktop with no extra effort, and without restrictive layout frameworks. Who knows... you may even even see things that begin to rival native apps!

Some of the servers provide apis which make life better, but most of them not. So how can we get the data from these servers or communicating with these servers? This talk will teach you how to analysis the packets between client and server and share my experience about how to write the client application and how to do the test and refactor.
Npm, bower, Angular, jQuery, grunt, gulp, browserify, requirejs, ember, backbone, requirejs, amd .... thousands of micro frameworks, libraries and tools.
The question is how do you avoid getting lost within the jungle of modern JS frameworks, libraries and tools? How to be effective and actually deliver while every day there is a new cool framework or tool coming out and one of the developers in your team would love to try it. In production.
In this talk I will explain the right strategy for dealing with the rapid changes in JS landscape and choosing the right set of tools for doing the job.
Key takeaways:
Get to know which js tools/libraries works well together.
Which tools/libraries are not cool anymore and why?
How to deal with library/tool dependency conflicts?
How to find good quality tools and frameworks?

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
