This document provides tips to save 15 minutes of commute time daily on the Singapore MRT by boarding at the correct train doors. It recommends referring to images showing which doors align with escalators at each station on the Northeast Line. By boarding through these doors, commuters can save squeezing out and queuing time and be the first to reach escalators, cutting their travel time by about 3 minutes per trip. Doing this 18 times a week would save over 46 hours annually, the equivalent of over $2,000 in potential earnings. The tips only apply to the Northeast Line and may require train operators to number doors or align escalators for maximum efficiency.

3. How to save 15 minutes of your Train Commute Time daily, for the
rest of your life?
• Ever wondered how to cut short your train commute time? Use the two images above
as a guide for you to be the first to reach the escalator when the train reach your
destination station. For example if you are travelling from Sengkang to Clarke Quay
(Towards Harbourfront Direction), you should refer to the second image (Towards
Harbourfront); Clarke Quay station and board through the train door no. 4, 11, 14, 21
at Sengkang station.
The train door number is the numeric digit on the lower right corner on top of the train
door, on the train directional sign (e.g. towards harbourfront sign).
This would ensure the shortest distance from the train door to the escalator, cutting
out the squeezing out of the train time, cutting out the queuing at the foot of the
escalator time, and if you are the first to be on the escalator, you can be sure no one
will be blocking you from walking up the escalator.
We all know time is money.
If you commute at least 18 times a week, this idea would save you 3 mins per trip
leading to a time savings of 18 * 3 * 52 weeks in a year = 2808 mins or 46.8 hours
per commuter.
Imagine what would you do with 46.8 hours worth of time money.
I dedicate this to the millions of current commuters and the many more unborn baby
commuters of the Singapore Train System in the future.
4. How to save 15 minutes of your Train Commute Time daily, for the
rest of your life?

Do note that this guide only applies to Northeast Line, as the train service
provider does not numerate the train door for the other train lines in a
chronological order. A side note to SBS Transit/SMRT: You may like to
consider building the escalators in front of the same train doors for future
train lines? For current train lines, you could help by numerating the train
door.
Lastly, please feel free to share these images with your family and friends.
You can place this on the pages (apart from the main app screen) on your
handphone. Do browse the app "Multi-picture Live Wallpaper", that allows
you to double tap to switch the 2 images back and forth on one page on
your phone.
