Fatigue is a serious safety concern for truck drivers. Here are a few ways to reduce drowsiness while driving trucks: take foods low in fat content and avoid fast foods; maintain a healthy weight through a weight control program; drink caffeine in moderation as prolonged usage can interfere with sleep; do not smoke and avoid drugs that claim to help alertness; get adequate sleep which is the most important way to prevent fatigue; exercise regularly with a brisk walk; relax during free time; and maintain a healthy, regular diet. Following these strategies can help increase awareness while driving and reduce accidents.
