How to pawn an exotic car
1. How to Pawn an
Exotic Car
Presented by Chapes-JPL
2. Introduction
THE “EXOTIC” PAWN SHOP
Pawning an exotic car is not the kind of
transaction you should carry out at a local
pawn shop. An exotic car pawn is a high-
end specialty transaction that requires a
reputable asset lender with experience
appraising and storing exotic vehicles.
Chapes-JPL is the nation’s premier asset
lender and one of the few brokers in the
nation that offers free car storage with
any loan on a classic or exotic car.
WHY PAWN AN EXOTIC CAR?
Chances are if you own an exotic car, you didn’t
get it by toiling away as a low-level employee.
An overwhelming portion of exotic vehicle
owners are self-employed entrepreneurs with
years of experience running successful
enterprises. However, entrepreneurs sometimes
have irregular cash flows and may need a loan
for business opportunities or to bail
themselves out of financial difficulties.
Unfortunately, traditional banking
establishments are not big fans of irregular
cash flows when it comes to making loans.

5. Exotic Car Qualifications
Limited Edition
For your vehicle to qualify
as an exotic, it must be
out of the ordinary and
there should be few cars
around like it.
Expensive
Exoticness doesn’t come
cheap. A rule of thumb is
that your car should be
valued at more than
$200,000.
6. Exotic Car Qualifications (cont.)
Stunning Design
An exotic car should have
a very unique look that
can be described as “out
of this world,” and more
sophisticated than your
average vehicle.
Plush Upholstery
An exotic car is expected
to have “state-of-the-art”
and stylish interiors that
dwarf those of standard
cars.
7. Exotic Car Qualifications (cont.)
Robust Powertrain
An exotic car, in
comparison to a normal
car, should have more
emphasis on power and
performance than to
mileage or economy.
Personalized
Exotic cars are not
assembly-line creations;
they are built and
customized according to
the needs and desires of
buyers.
9. How the Process Works
Appraisal
When pawning an exotic car, it’s value
must first be determined by considering
the year, make, model, and overall
condition based on market pricing. If the
car is a classic model, however, most
pawnbrokers will utilize specialist car
auctions like Bonhams.
10. How the Process Works (cont.)
Storage
After an offer has been made by the
pawn broker, you must surrender the
vehicle to the broker unless you’ve opted
for a title loan. Your vehicle will then be
placed in secure storage. It will remain
there until you pay off your pawn loan in
full.
11. How the Process Works (cont.)
Payment
Once you’ve paid off your balance, you
will receive your vehicle back the same
day. If you’re unable to pay the full
balance, some pawnbrokers like Chapes-
JPL will allow it’s clients to extend their
loan term and pay only the accrued
interest for that month.
