This document provides information about obtaining visas for travel to Iran. Citizens of most countries need a visa, except those from Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Georgia, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey who can stay for up to 3 months without a visa. Visas can be extended through various government departments depending on the visa type. Certain nationalities are not eligible for Visa on Arrival. 2. Who need a visa
Well, almost every one!
The majority of foreign visitors need a visa to enter Iran.
 Citizens of Azerbaijan, Bolivia, Georgia, Egypt, Lebanon,
Syria and turkey are eligible to travel for up to three
months without a visa.

3. Extension of Visas
 Application for extension of visas, including entry, tourist and
pilgrimage visas, are issued by Police Department of Aliens Affairs
on the basis of justifiable reasons and approval of the mentioned
Bureau.
 Diplomatic and service visa will be extended by the Ministry of
Foreign affairs upon the request of the concerned foreign Diplomatic
mission in Tehran.
 Work permit visa will be extended by Police Aliens Affairs Dep. with
Coordination of the Department of Aliens Employment at the ministry
of labor and Social Affairs and on the basis of request by the Iranian
sponsor of the applicant.

8. Visa fees
There are two different visa fees:
 The firs one is a flat 60 $ fee that goes toward the initial visa
application paperwork, your letter of invitation to Iran and MFA
paperwork.
 The second cost comes when you are going to pick up your visa at
Iranian embassy or consulate. This second cost is different based on
the applicant nationality.
