The data model remains the same in eZ Publish 5 as in eZ Publish 4. While eZ Publish 5 provides an interface for NoSQL databases, only one storage API has been implemented so far. It is simple to create new storage APIs for NoSQL databases but this requires additional work. eZ Publish 5 includes an in-memory cache for testing purposes only, as data is lost after reboot, and it should not be used for persistent storage. Large data listings continue to use limit/offset pagination and future improvements are needed. The system supports multiple databases through site accesses and importing large amounts of data still requires a custom controller with caching disabled.
