A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

How to Manage Your Lost Opportunities in Odoo 17 CRMCeline George
Odoo 17 CRM allows us to track why we lose sales opportunities with "Lost Reasons." This helps analyze our sales process and identify areas for improvement. Here's how to configure lost reasons in Odoo 17 CRM
13. When Israel was a child, I
loved him, and out of Egypt
I called my son. The more I
called them, the more they
went from me; they kept
sacrificing to the Baals, and
offering incense to idols.
Hosea 11:1–2 (NRSV)
14. Yet it was I who taught Ephraim
to walk, I took them up in my
arms; but they did not know
that I healed them. I led them
with cords of human kindness,
with bands of love. I was to
them like those who lift infants
to their cheeks. I bent down to
them and fed them.
Hosea 11:3–4 (NRSV)
15. They shall return to the land of
Egypt, and Assyria shall be their
king, because they have refused
to return to me. The sword rages
in their cities, it consumes their
oracle-priests, and devours
because of their schemes. My
people are bent on turning away
from me. To the Most High they
call, but he does not raise them
up at all.
Hosea 11:5–7 (NRSV)
16. How can I give you up,
Ephraim? How can I hand you
over, O Israel? How can I make
you like Admah? How can I
treat you like Zeboiim? My
heart recoils within me; my
compassion grows warm and
tender.
Hosea 11:8 (NRSV)
17. I will not execute my fierce
anger; I will not again
destroy Ephraim; for I am
God and no mortal, the Holy
One in your midst, and I will
not come in wrath.
Hosea 11:9 (NRSV)
18. They shall go after the Lord,
who roars like a lion; when he
roars, his children shall come
trembling from the west.
Hosea 11:10 (NRSV)
19. They shall come trembling
like birds from Egypt, and
like doves from the land of
Assyria; and I will return
them to their homes, says
the Lord.
Hosea 11:11 (NRSV)
