Now, a Panel of the National Academy of Public Administration has analyzed that Dialogue, and issued this report with key implications for health IT and privacy and civic engagement. The report also uses the information shared during to course of the Dialogue to establish principles on which future health IT and privacy policy should be based.
President Obama has called upon government to harness new technology and make government transparent, participatory and collaborative. The National Dialogue demonstrates an important new opportunity to use technology to reach across and outside of government to access the collective brainpower of organizations, stakeholders and individuals.

Six years after its creation, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) undertook the first Quadrennial Homeland Security Review (QHSR), a top-to-bottom review that will inform the homeland security policy for the next four years. Recognizing the need to inform this review with the input of the thousands of homeland security stakeholders nationwide, DHS partnered with the nonprofit, nonpartisan National Academy of Public Administration to host a series of online collaborative dialogues to solicit stakeholder feedback on the missions, goals, and priorities of DHS.

Recognizing the need to inform this review with the input of the thousands of homeland security stakeholders nationwide, DHS partnered with the nonprofit, nonpartisan National Academy of Public Administration to host a series of online collaborative dialogues to solicit stakeholder feedback on the missions, goals, and priorities of DHS.
This after-action report provides valuable lessons in conducting stakeholder outreach on an unprecedented scale. The feedback received in these Dialogues was incorporated into the Quadrennial Homeland Security Review, which DHS submitted to Congress in early 2010.Viewers also liked (8)
