This document provides information about several orders of arthropods including: - Neuroptera (lacewings), which have 2 pairs of net-like wing veins and eat small insects. - Strepsiptera (twisted-wing insects) which have males that are free-living and winged, while females are wingless. - Diptera (flies) which have two wings. - Mecoptera (scorpionflies) which have the Greek word "mecos" meaning long in their name. - Lepidoptera (butterflies and moths) which have two scaled wings and a sucking mouthpart.
