Hlohovec is a town located on the banks of the Váh River, the longest river in Slovakia, with 23,729 inhabitants. The town is nicknamed the "city of roses" due to its floral decorations and hosts an annual Michalský jarmok festival. It has a castle located in a castle park with a pond, an Empire Theater where various artists perform, and a church dating back to the 13th-14th century.
