This document presents a Promo Price Perception Index for 2015-2016 that compares the basket prices of 13 Hungarian retailers. It shows the cheapest basket for each month and year, the price spread over time, and trends for each retailer. The methodology describes how a basket of 10 common grocery items is priced monthly based on promotions in leaflets, using an average for any missing items. The aim is to compare the perceived price image communicated by each retailer rather than classify who has the lowest prices.
