Selon les tendances démographiques élaborées par l’Insee Bretagne et les agences d’urbanisme bretonnes, la population augmentera d’ici 2040, avec un nombre de personnes âgées en forte croissance, notamment sur le littoral sud et la zone de Lorient. Ces évolutions à venir sont liées aux grands âges des baby-boomers.
Les enjeux porteront sur les besoins en forte hausse tant en termes de structures d’accueil que de services à la personne permettant aux seniors de rester dans leur logement. Les problématiques d’adaptation des logements, ainsi que d’offre de services adaptés à cette catégorie de population, se poseront également, avec encore plus d’acuité.
AudéLor a réalisé, pour Lorient Agglomération, une étude sur l'ensemble des hébergements des personnes âgées, et en particulier sur les résidences services séniors privés.
Cette étude comprend également une analyse de la démographie des personnes âgées, de leur mobilité résidentielle et de leur niveau de revenus.
Un recueil de témoignages, effectué par AudéLor, auprès des résidents de ces structures, apporte un éclairage contrasté sur divers aspects de la vie en résidences services séniors privées.
