2. 2005/ 2009 Safran:
I have been named: Head of Global sourcing and secretary of Safran Sourcing Council.
Mission statements:
Coordinate all sourcing actions with the affiliates network and create a common supply
chain in several countries.
Implementing a Safran Supplier network at group level .
Create a whole supply chain concept with the highest local value added.
Concept has been launched in Taiwan, China, then, Tunisia & Morocco.
The most advanced has been successfully done in Morocco where some Key OEM
players are currently doing same, Like Bombardier and Airbus that are using Safran’s
best practice.
Before my retirement, Mexico has been the latest country where I started to implement
same concept of a whole supply chain to increase local value content and reduce logistic
issues.
Since 2010; As retired from Safran, I have my own consulting cy in France: Bluefield SAS.
I worked for 3 years as senior advisor for an event company, which creates all over the
world B to B events: BCI Aerospace.
In addition with:
In regards with my personal backgrounds, Safran asked me to continue developing the
Mexico SC as senior advisor.
Mexico represents the main low cost entry on the NAFTA market, it quickly appears to
me, it was mandatory for Safran being one of the key partners for such development but
not the sole key actor.
So, in 2010, under my proposal, we launched, The Mexico Sourcing Council with several
key OEM which are:
Bombardier, Bell Textron, Rockwelcollins, Honeywell, Eaton and Safran.
The goal was to identify and merge the needs from our club members for each main
commodity to increase the business volume.
Then, inviting foreign key players in their core Aerospace business opening a plant or
looking for a partnership in Mexico to follow their main key customers.
After 3 years of sales campaign and promotion with Promexico support and Ministry of
Finance, Seeds are starting to grow.
My personal knowledge of several key players in the OEM Aerospace industry, EADS,
Bombardier, Eaton, Honeywell, Zodiac, Safran….
and my existing network with Tier 2 level in Europe and Canada are helping me to
identify the potential key suppliers.
3. 2011: Opening of my own company in Canada: Bluefield Aerospace Canada,
Today, I belong to several strategic councils of Canadian companies and often work with
Ken Laver former President of Messier Dowty Bugatti.
