14. Innovative medicines produce savings in HC system by reducing
spending on hospitalization and other health services

When comparing worker productivity for European, Australian, and Canadian patients with
rheumatoid arthritis (RA), researchers found that patients were able to work longer and
earn more money when treated with a novel biologic rather than conventional therapy*
over the study period of 2 years.
