Helen Keller was born deaf and blind in 1880 in Alabama. At age 6, she was sent Anne Sullivan to be her teacher. Anne Sullivan was patient and taught Helen sign language and how to finger spell, helping her learn communication. Despite her disabilities, Helen Keller went on to write books and articles, showing her intelligence and courage. She lived until age 88 and is remembered for her remarkable achievements.
