  are	
  
vibrating	
  with	
  energy	
  and	
  vitality	
  and	
  move	
  together	
  in	
  joyful	
  synchronicity.	
  Each	
  
child	
  is	
  colorfully	
  adorned	
  with	
  matching	
  headdresses,	
  wigs,	
  scarves,	
  grass	
  skirts	
  
and	
  multicolored	
  beads	
  which	
  makes	
  the	
  music	
  that	
  pours	
  out	
  of	
  them	
  create	
  a	
  
delight	
  for	
  the	
  eyes	
  and	
  ears.	
  	
  Their	
  hands	
  are	
  out	
  towards	
  the	
  sky;	
  their	
  hips	
  are	
  
swaying	
  and	
  swirling	
  in	
  a	
  seemingly	
  free	
  flowing,	
  yet	
  creatively	
  choreographed	
  
dance.	
  	
  These	
  children	
  are	
  having	
  fun,	
  emanating	
  joy	
  and	
  happiness,	
  and	
  this	
  joy	
  is	
  
contagious.	
  
The	
  children	
  of	
  Uganda	
  want	
  to	
  dance	
  and	
  sing	
  for	
  you	
  to	
  celebrate	
  life,	
  diversity,	
  
education,	
  and	
  hope	
  for	
  disadvantaged	
  children	
  everywhere.	
  	
  These	
  young	
  people	
  
promote	
  unity	
  in	
  the	
  universal	
  language	
  of	
  love.	
  	
  All	
  of	
  these	
  joyous	
  children	
  have	
  
overcome	
  harsh	
  circumstances	
  of	
  their	
  own	
  including	
  substandard	
  living	
  conditions,	
  
hunger,	
  and	
  lack	
  of	
  medical	
  care.	
  	
  	
  They	
  have	
  grown	
  up	
  without	
  electricity	
  in	
  mud	
  
huts	
  with	
  thatched	
  roofs,	
  where	
  cooking	
  is	
  done	
  with	
  charcoal	
  or	
  firewood.	
  	
  Still	
  
these	
  children	
  have	
  thrived	
  and	
  they	
  want	
  other	
  disadvantaged	
  children	
  to	
  embrace	
  
health	
  and	
  happiness.	
  	
  Their	
  dance	
  of	
  hope	
  tells	
  a	
  story,	
  and	
  storytelling,	
  past	
  and	
  
present,	
  has	
  strong	
  roots	
  in	
  family	
  and	
  community	
  as	
  singing	
  and	
  sharing	
  stories	
  
around	
  the	
  fire	
  is	
  a	
  major	
  form	
  of	
  entertainment.	
  The	
  heartbeat	
  children	
  continue	
  
this	
  tradition	
  with	
  unique	
  performances	
  that	
  entrance	
  the

  • 1.   Heatbeat  Children:  An  Explosion  of  Music  and  Dance   There  is  a  tantalizing  magic  taking  place  watching  the  Heartbeat  Children  dance  and   sing  the  message  of  hope.    As  they  rhythmically  beat  their  drums  and  gourds  in   tandem,  creatively  play  their  native  instruments,  and  leap  and  shake  across  the   stage,  these  lively  young  people  sing  their  hearts  out  in  celebration.    They  are   vibrating  with  energy  and  vitality  and  move  together  in  joyful  synchronicity.  Each   child  is  colorfully  adorned  with  matching  headdresses,  wigs,  scarves,  grass  skirts   and  multicolored  beads  which  makes  the  music  that  pours  out  of  them  create  a   delight  for  the  eyes  and  ears.    Their  hands  are  out  towards  the  sky;  their  hips  are   swaying  and  swirling  in  a  seemingly  free  flowing,  yet  creatively  choreographed   dance.    These  children  are  having  fun,  emanating  joy  and  happiness,  and  this  joy  is   contagious.   The  children  of  Uganda  want  to  dance  and  sing  for  you  to  celebrate  life,  diversity,   education,  and  hope  for  disadvantaged  children  everywhere.    These  young  people   promote  unity  in  the  universal  language  of  love.    All  of  these  joyous  children  have   overcome  harsh  circumstances  of  their  own  including  substandard  living  conditions,   hunger,  and  lack  of  medical  care.      They  have  grown  up  without  electricity  in  mud   huts  with  thatched  roofs,  where  cooking  is  done  with  charcoal  or  firewood.    Still   these  children  have  thrived  and  they  want  other  disadvantaged  children  to  embrace   health  and  happiness.    Their  dance  of  hope  tells  a  story,  and  storytelling,  past  and   present,  has  strong  roots  in  family  and  community  as  singing  and  sharing  stories   around  the  fire  is  a  major  form  of  entertainment.  The  heartbeat  children  continue   this  tradition  with  unique  performances  that  entrance  the  world.     The  Heartbeat  children  want  to  improve  life  for  all  children  no  matter  what   nationality  they  come  from.  The  persistent  beat  of  the  drum,  the  melodic  lute,  and   young  girls  and  boys  engaging  in  spirited  dancing  is  an  invitation  to  an  educational   exchange  for  the  children  of  all  cultures.    Created  and  cast  by  children,  and  expertly   choreographed  by  world the renowned music ambassador, Herbert Kinobe, this   explosion  of  joy  through  singing  and  dancing  invites  creativity,  vitality,  energy,  and   hope.  A  sense  of  togetherness  and  resilience  is  explored  through  the  power  of  music   and  performance  art.  Come  see  these  young  people  transcend  their  experiences  and   shared  poverty  into  a  joyful  creation  of  music.
