UX STRAT Asia 2020: Kévin Boezennec, Bank of SingaporeUX STRAT
“Data is the new oil”, Clive Humby said in 2006, and now, in 2020, it goes without saying that being able to use data to drive informed business decision in real-time is the new goal of each and every bank.
Now, how to think strategically about how best to manage data across the organisation? How best to generate insights from data and use them in a meaningful way for our clients and for the organisation?
This is the project we started working on with our Chief Data and Innovation Officer looking at first, how our colleagues use data across the functions of the organisation to take business decisions. This presentation shares the research learnings as well as our strategic vision regarding the data platform and data-informed client experience.
Our traditional approach to the design of policy, systems, services, environments, and products isn’t going to serve us well in the 21st Century. As a result we are going to have to evolve the practice of design to shape behavior for a preferable future. Our proposal is that ‘shaping’ behavior becomes the new function of design in the 21st Century. By defining ‘preferable futures’ as the outcome of our work we are forced to consider the longitudinal impacts of our work socially, culturally, ethically and environmentally.
UX STRAT USA 2019: Richard Baker, GE TransportationUX STRAT
Many engineering-focused enterprises have become solution driven—it's in the very nature of their work. Oftentimes it can be tricky to convince your stakeholders to use valuable time and resources on user experience.
Over the past two years, the innovation and design teams at GE Transportation have been refining their processes to enable engineering-heavy teams to capitalize on long-term strategy and short-term design-led execution through four key principles:
Simplify the complex
Work in bite-size chunks to make things manageable
Built-in exit ramps to ensure relevancy and quality
Work in full transparency
In this presentation, Richard will walk through how user-centric design was scaled in an engineer-led enterprise of thousands mechanical, electrical, and computer engineers.
How we at IBM iX reimagined an ecosystem & kick-started the journey to the future using research & Enterprise Design Thinking. The story of transformation of the leading heavy equipment finance provider in India. It’s the story of how research was used to create a platform that binds multiple providers together in orchestrated workflows, enabling them to work together seamlessly and transform from within to a new way of competing. It is also the story of how deeply design-led the transformation was. It’s a story that continues on a path paved with data to shine some light into hitherto unexplored spaces, empowering the grassroots end user with the tools to create his own success. Watch this space to see it unfold.

UX STRAT 2016 - Ensuring Validity in Strategic UX Research MethodsCarine Lallemand
Conference presented at the UX Strat Europe 2016 conference in Amsterdam by Dr. Carine Lallemand (University of Luxembourg).
Abstract:
While conducting UX research, we make several conclusions that will in turn provide the foundation for our UX strategy. But what if these inferences happen to be wrong, based on invalid findings and false beliefs? How critically would this impact your organization and projects? How can you safeguard a UX strategy by ensuring the quality of research conclusions?
There might be numerous threats to validity in UX research, some of which might depend on the method used or the way it is used. A method is only a guide to action that needs to be configured, adapted, and complemented to match specific project requirements. To be successful, it is essential to ensure validity in strategic UX research methods. Failing to do so is taking the risk to base strategic decisions on false beliefs. In this talk, we will therefore see how to tackle validity issues and make the most out of UX research to stand out from the crowd by delivering value and differentiation. Through the presentation of validated cutting edge UX methods and business cases, you will be able to spot opportunities for improvement in your UX strategy!

An overview of how the Flinders model works and its challenges and benefits. This presentation was given at the AFAO Positive Services Forum in June 2009.
These Guidelines have been produced as part of the OECD Better Life Initiative, a pioneering project launched in 2011, with the objective to measure society’s progress across eleven domains of well-being, ranging from jobs, health and housing, through to civic engagement and the environment.
These Guidelines represent the first attempt to provide international recommendations on collecting, publishing, and analysing subjective well-being data. They provide guidance on collecting information on people's evaluations and experiences of life, as well as on collecting “eudaimonic” measures of psychological well-being. The Guidelines also outline why measures of subjective well-being are relevant for monitoring and policy making, and why national statistical agencies have a critical role to play in enhancing the usefulness of existing measures. They identify the best approaches for measuring, in a reliable and consistent way, the various dimensions of subjective well-being, and provide guidance for reporting on such measures. The Guidelines also include a number of prototype survey modules on subjective well-being that national and international agencies can use in their surveys.
Standards for improving the quality of care for children and young adolescent...Trinity Care Foundation
These standards for the quality of paediatric care in health facilities form part of normative guidance for improving the quality of maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health care.
The goal of this publication is to ensure that the care given to all children, including young adolescents, in health facilities is evidence-based, safe, effective, timely, efficient, equitable and appropriate for their age and stage of development. The standards were developed in the best interests of children, in recognition of the fact that their requirements are different from those of adults and to ensure their right to high-quality health care. The standards are applicable to all facilities that provide health care to children and adolescents.

The Pathways Community HUB Manual is designed as a guide to help those interested in improving care coordination to individuals at highest risk for poor health outcomes. The Pathways Community HUB (HUB) model is a strategy to identify and address risk factors at the level of the individual, but can also impact population health through data collected. As individuals are identified, they receive a comprehensive risk assessment and each risk factor is translated into a Pathway. Pathways are tracked to completion, and this comprehensive approach and heightened level of accountability leads to improved outcomes and reduced costs. For the Connecting Those at Risk to Care: The Quick Start Guide to Developing Community Care Coordination Pathways, go to https://innovations.ahrq.gov/sites/default/files/Guides/CommHub_QuickStart.pdf.

Prevue Guide Book: Hiring Workbook for consultants, HR, and managersIra Wolfe
The Prevue Assessment System provides business owners and human resource professionals with pre-employment assessment tests and succession planning reports that assist in hiring and promoting the right employees.
Individuals have a wide range of goals, aspirations, achievements and identities, which emerge in a variety of community contexts, institutions, qualification structures and labour markets. Those who do not engage in substantive up-skilling or re-skilling through either formal learning or learning through work, for periods of five to ten years, run the risk of being 'locked into' a particular way of working. They become more vulnerable in the labour market, especially where there is a significant change in their job or their circumstances because their ability to be adaptable with regard to their career progression can decay.
Developing career adaptability has a focus on supporting and encouraging individuals to be autonomous, taking responsibility for their own career development. The research considers the potential advantages of career adaptability: for improving public policy in areas such as the quality and effectiveness of career support services. The findings highlight the need for a stronger policy framework that helps motivate and inspire individuals to take action at different ages and stages in the life course (that is, new ways of combining learning, earning and active citizenship).
