Community Source UDC Community Source Unified Digital Campus is also known as Community Source Initiative The CS UDC community was formed right after the 2009 SunGard Summit in Philadelphia CS UDC has been initiated by SunGard but is driven by clients The goal of Community Source Initiative is to develop a community program in which customers can share and submit code for inclusion into Banner Baseline products An FAQ on CS UDC was posted in August 2009 on the support site (FAQ#: 1-6ZLY9T)
12. How CS UDC Benefits Your Institution? CS UDC is a new initiative of SunGard based on feedback from clients. With this initiative, SunGard can deliver new enhancements to clients based on existing solutions provided by other peers to the address common business needs In many cases you will receive more enhancements in a timelier fashion with this model If it is your submitted modification that is included in baseline, you will no longer need to port the modification to a new version of the SunGard product each time you upgrade, and SunGard will now maintain the modification as part of its baseline code

SunGard Commons https://commons.sungardhe.com This is a collaboration website which is currently being piloted by different communities such as CS UDC Eventually SunGard plans to release the commons to the SunGard Higher Education community - all clients, employees, and partners of SunGard Higher Education.
29. CS UDC Achievements CS UDC started with a focus on Banner Student but now the focus has been expanded to Finance, HR, Accounts Receivable, Financial Aid, and General. Since the inception of CS UDC, 29 modifications have been submitted by 12 institutions and SunGard 2 modifications will be available to clients as early as this December in 8.3 release 1 modification is in the pipeline to be delivered in future releases of Banner. 25 modifications are currently under review

CS UDC Enhancements in Banner 8.3 Financial Aid: Update the “use” field on RORPOST via a new batch script On the RORPOST form, categories are created which reference the type of update to be performed. The new script accepts financial aid year and batch post category. The script first updates all “check boxes” (RORPOST_PTYP_CODE) to null, then only checks the box for the category passed (RORPOST_USE_IND = ‘Y’).

CS UDC Enhancements in Banner 8.3 Student: Faculty CRN enhancements In Faculty Self-service, the CRN selection dropdown was enhanced so that courses that have no enrollment or are non-gradable do not display. In Faculty Self-service, the CRN dropdown was enhanced so that instructors are provided additional information about the course in order to correctly distinguish one section from another.
35. What's Next? CS UDC will be widely introduced to all clients in April 2010 during the Summit.
