information technology within
health care will effect every
American. From a routine office
visit to an accident miles from
home, from test results to
prescription safety, the
technology allows the information
to be available 24/7 to benefit
patients and medical staff alike.

4. My name is Stacy Parsons,
and I live in Michigan.
I am 49 years old,
and I wear many hats
in the current stage of my life.

5. Iam a wife, married for 23 years to a fruit
farmer.
Iam a mother, who has three daughters, two
are adults, and one is a teenager.
Iam a homeschool educator, currently
teaching my daughter who is in the 9th
grade.
Iam a full-time college student, currently in
my final class.

6. In August of 2008, I began
my college career with the
goal of obtaining a double
BA in Health Care
Administration and
Accounting. In 2011, the
goal of an accounting
degree was changed to a
BA in Health Informatics.

7. The general area of health care,
and more specifically the business
aspect, has always interested me.
With the growing trend in health
care and the expansion that the
role of Information Technology
(IT) and Information Systems (IS)
would be playing, I decided that I
could have a positive role in the
future of healthcare IT/IS.
