I consider myself to be a hardworking, highly motivated and responsible instrumentation technician who is
always keen to learn new skills and further my abilities. I work well individually and in a team, with a can do
attitude. I pride myself on working safely and to a high standard at all times. I have spent the first 4 years of
my career working in the petrochemicals industry and consider this to have given me a wealth of
knowledge on safety requirements and standards expected of employees in my line of work. I thoroughly
enjoy my work at BP Chemicals and have gained a vast array of experience working on plant maintenance
activities in a safe manner, including; planned preventative maintenance, trip testing, breakdowns, fault
finding, equipment installations and commissioning in challenging and hazardous environments.
Challenges always approached in a proactive and flexible manner. I took on extra HNC units, on my own
accord, so I gained two HNC’s instead of one, which I achieved.
Key strengths and experience
 Recent DCS training.
 Experience of both routine and complex instrument, electrical and pneumatic tasks.
 Knowledge of pressure, flow, level and temperature control loop systems.
 Involved in establishing maintenance safe systems of work and permits to work.
 Experience of cross functional teams, working flexibly both in a team and individually.
 Adaptable to change due to working in different areas of BP as a part my apprenticeship.
 Computer literate, with experience of SAP and MAXIMO work reporting systems.

all pressure, flow, level and temperature instrumentation.
 Accurate recording of work data using SAP to meet operational safety and HSE requirements.
 Sourcing and ordering of equipment and spares to minimise down time.
 Working flexibly as part of a team to ensure the chemical plant is working to optimum efficiency and
safety.
I have worked on all areas at the BP site as part of the company’s established Quartz BP apprenticeship
scheme, including INEOS’ ethyl acetate (ETAC) and vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) plants.
During this time I have gained experience and good knowledge in the following;
 Maintenance, repair, calibration and fault finding on:
