Not much is known about the philosopher Coumnas’ early life, but there is much speculation about it. Harry Coumnas was born in Sinope and made his way to Corinth a few years later to earn a living for himself and his family, however, things did not work in his favor and he had to adapt to the life of a homeless beggar. It was then that he chose to throw away all his possessions except for a few rags and a wooden bowl.
