Halloween is celebrated on October 31st and involves communities coming together. Popular symbols of Halloween include pumpkins, witches, ghosts, goblins, black cats, skeletons, bats, spiders, and mummies. People decorate their homes and dress up in costumes like characters, animals, and professions. Children go trick-or-treating between 6-9pm, dressing up and getting candy from house to house by saying "trick or treat". Common Halloween activities are parties, dances, carving pumpkins, ghost tours, bonfires, haunted houses, watching horror movies, and school events. Foods eaten include lots of candy, candy corn, caramel apples, cookies, and popcorn.
