and stress I have hunted down the best beauty spots in Brixton, from the good, the bad, and
the… interesting. It’s all in this beautiful black list of beauty!

The first on this beauty radar is GroLondon. Located on Brixton Road, it’s the seventh out of
eight of these quirky hair salons to be found only in South London. The inside of this salon
makes you feel like you’re about to walk down a
multi-coloured runway – which I personally loved.
Even though it’s a little pricier than some (with a
cut a blow dry starting at £45,) Gro’s hair stylist
team know exactly what they’re doing. Feel at
ease knowing that whoever has your hair in their
hands they’ve worked all over the world, creating
some of the best styles from catwalks to fashion
shoots. Gro offers a range of treatments from colouring, highlights, bleach, and ombre styles
as well as wedding hair and make-up. On top of this if you feel inspired by your new ‘do’
they offer courses under ‘Gro London Academy’ so you can learn from the best, and as they
say, ‘Grow with Gro!’

salon. Organic Beauty offers a free consultation from their team of award winning trained
therapists, as well as having an array of ‘natural, unprocessed and untreated’ treatments such
as manicures, eyelash tinting and extensions and organic spray tans. Their organic spray
tanning products ‘contain no Synthetic colours, no Parabens and will not expose you to
harmful UV rays.’ While their manicure and pedicure treatments boast a hydrating and
conditioning formula for the skin and cuticles. With manicures starting at £20 and a half body
organic spray tan being priced reasonably at £25 we can see this organic salon becoming a

doors back in 2001 in Brixton. Located around
the corner from O2 Academy Brixton this salon
may look like your ordinary high street nail bar
but GEDD’s is Brixton’s secret treasure.
With over 15 years of experience working in the
beauty industry in Brixton this salon and its
hard-working team understand their customers
and what they want. On request this salon offers
special priced packages so perfect for any
special occasion, and they also offer grooming
for men too. GEDD’s is also the cheapest salon I’ve found in Brixton that do walk in nail
extensions with acrylic full set and colour for £12 and gel full set and colour priced at £20.
Shellac nails too are priced at the best I’ve found in London starting at £26. A wash, cut and
blow dry starts at £25! And the best thing is, this salon will always make room for walk-in

individual programme and prices. Starter locs begin from £65, which includes maintenance,
products and pre-lock consultation. For those who like to keep it natural, basic canerows start
from £28, however with both locs and natural there are dditional styling options for you to
choose from. Each member of the team at Adornment365 understand your specific hair care
needs and all hold formal haircare qualifications and have nutritionists with trichcologists on
team. With this in mind the salon also offers training for those who also want to specialise in
natural afro hair care which are run by experienced industry leaders. Overall this salon should
be your number one destination for afro hair styling!
Bella’s Salon Clapham, 22 Clapham Park Road SW4 7BB
Even though it may have a Clapham postcode this salon is easily accessible as it’s only a ten-
minute bus journey from Brixton. It’s the most expensive salon I’ve come across yet,
however offers some specially targeted treatments at great prices. At Bella’s Salon they offer
slimming treatments with a lipo
