AUTOMATICALLY CANCELLED
If PAGASA issued Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals (TCWS) 1, 2, 3,
4, or 5
Note: Only for schools situated in Local Government Units issued with TCWS

9. the school shall immediately suspend the classes and
work and send everyone home, if it is safe to do so
If the TCWS is issued at a time when classes have already begun

10. Local Chief Executives (Governor, Mayor, Punong
Barangay) shall decide on the cancellation or
suspension of classes
If there are strong winds in an area or all areas of the LGU but
not issued a TCWS

11. HEAVY RAINFALL

12. in-person, online classes, and work from ALL LEVELS
are automatically cancelled in schools
If LGU is issued with Orange and Red Rainfall Warning by the
PAGASA
Note: Only for schools situated in Local Government Units issued with Heavy Rainfall Warning
HEAVY RAINFALL

13. school shall immediately suspend the classes and work
and send everyone home, if it is safe to do so
If the orange or red rainfall warning is issued at a time when
classes have already begun

14. Local Chief Executives shall decide on the cancellation
or suspension of classes
If LGU is issued a Yellow Rainfall Warning by PAGASA or if
there are torrential rains but is not issued an alert by PAGASA

15. FLOOD

16. in-person, online classes, and work from ALL LEVELS
(including ALS) are automatically cancelled in schools
If specific areas of LGU are issued with a Flood Warning by the
PAGASA

17. the school shall immediately suspend the classes and
work and send everyone home, if it is safe to do so
If the Flood Warning is issued at a time when classes have
already begun

18. Local Chief Executives shall decide on the cancellation
or suspension of classes
If there is flooding in specific or all areas of the LGU but is not
issued a Flood Warning by PAGASA

19. EARTHQUAKE

If PHIVOLCS declares an earthquake with PEIS V or above

22. School Principal can cancel classes
At any Intensity Scale, if in the School Principal's assessment,
buildings and other structures are seen to be in danger of
collapsing or is found to have major damage

23. POWER OUTAGES/INTERRUPTIONS/BROWNOUTS

24. There will be no automatic cancellation or
suspension of classes in the event that there
are power outages/power
interruptions/brownouts in schools

own discretion

to poor learning environment

26. Schools are obliged to keep the
students and personnel safely

Evacuation Centers or
COVID-19 Quarantine
and/or Isolation
Facilities/Vaccination

28. Schools shall not be used as
quarantine and/or isolation
facilities or vaccination centers.

29. Mobile vaccinations of not more
than two days that do not disrupt
classes or school co-curricular
activities may be allowed

30. In cases of other disasters, schools
may be used as an immediate
evacuation site which should not last
for more than fifteen days.

31. Responsibility
of Parents or
Guardians

32. DepEd still maintains that parents or guardians
have the ultimate responsibility for
determining whether their children should
attend classes
in consideration of their physical and/or mental health during disasters and calamities. This
applies even if no order for cancellation or suspension of classes has been issued.

33. It shall also be the responsibility of the parents
or guardians to ensure that their child is able
to catch up with the needed competencies
that the learners should master.

suspend or cancel in-person classes and instead
implement modular distance learning (MDL)
modes amid extreme heat during summer
months.
