Jake told his panda bear he was excited for his first airplane trip. He rolled his suitcase onto the plane, found his seat, and buckled his seatbelt. Jane's mother signed her up for swimming lessons, despite Jane's fear of water. At the pool, a boy said girls can't swim, motivating Jane to jump in and prove him wrong. By the end of the lesson, Jane learned several swimming skills and was no longer afraid.

2. Last summer Jane’s mom signed her up for
swimming lessons. Jane did not want to learn how
to swim at all because she was afraid of the water.
Her mom took to her to town pool for her
swimming lessons and put sunscreen on Jane. All
the children lined up on the side of the pool and
jumped in one by one. Jane’s friend Jimmy said,
“You won’t jump in because girls can’t swim!” This
made Jane very angry and to prove Jimmy wrong,
she jumped right into the pool. Jane wasn’t scared
anymore. That day Jane learned how to blow
bubbles, kick, and float. Everyone was very proud
of Jane, including Jimmy. She was going to be a
great swimmer!
