The document describes an action research project to teach students about perimeter and area. Students were given introductory worksheets to assess their existing knowledge. Activities were used to introduce perimeter of squares and rectangles, such as having students find the perimeter of cut-out shapes. Students then derived the formulas for perimeter of a square and rectangle. The concept of area was introduced through observing objects in the classroom, and formulas for area of a square and rectangle were practiced. Additional activities included forming alphabets with pentominoes and a YouTube video to recap concepts. Post-test sheets and feedback were also provided.
