11. WHAT ARE BODY EXPECTATIONS
Body image refers to how you see, think about, and feel about your body. This can
include your body's size, shape, and weight, as well as specific body parts. Your body
image may or may not be related to your physical attractiveness. A person, for
example, may believe and feel that their physique is considerably larger or smaller
than it actually is.

and have a 25 or 26-inch waist.

19. • Social media could cause constant comparisons that lead to insecurity. Since it
is exposing you to images of “ idealized” body types. According to Neha
Chaudhary, MD, a child, and adolescent psychiatrist at Massachusetts General
Hospital and Harvard Medical School, "People end up creating unrealistic ideals
for themselves based on what they see and feel distressed when they aren't able
to meet those ideas or self-expectations,"
• Photoshop and filters could also be a danger to body expectation since “ it
creates a distorted fantasy world and raises the bar on what people perceive is
the best way to be “ says Jill M. Emanuele, PhD., the senior director of the Mood
Disorders Center at the Child Mind Institute.
• Social media could also decrease the dangers of body expectations by
increasing body positivity.
22. In conclusion, negative body image is a major concern that has a detrimental
impact on anyone's self-esteem. It has the potential to cause depression as well as
an eating disorder. It is up to you to start changing yourself. The external quest of
improving your body can frequently harm spirituality by diverting your attention
away from the internal-self — the spirit, soul, and whole authentic self. Self-love and
respect, as well as the abolition of discrimination, begin with one person at a time.
