Editor's Notes
Leaders and managers of To-day’s organisations have to meet a vast amount of internal and external challenges and they are constantly impacting on revenue and growth. There are lots of plates that have to keep spinning – and just one falling could damage the organisation, its reputation and its revenue. No longer is it enough to have a backward look at the organisation through the financial figures, its necessary to have the finger on the pulse of all aspects of the organisation. What’s the answer? Welcome to The Executive Boardroom and our proposition of the business of business.
And now for a vital part of the whole Executive Boardroom concept – the 2nd element, the web-based balanced business scorecard programme BizPulse.
BizPulse is exclusive to BizVision, It is about managing and measuring the non-financial aspects of the organisation – it is about taking the pulse of the business, setting and reaching goals and achieving balance. It is traffic light measurement, template driven and dynamic in its action.
Any organisation can quickly get started assessing by choosing a template with its ready-made management indicators. Each template addresses the four views of the organisation of Business Management, Operational Management, Customers & markets, People & Teams with up to 12 management indicators for each of the four perspectives.
The system is dynamic and has the opportunity for virtual mentoring by one of BizVision’s highly experienced scorecard mentors. By setting in the hierarchy of the organisation, along with their e-mails, it becomes a live tool.
Whilst there are up to 12 indicators for each of the 4 perspectives, only 3 come up on the screen at any one time. Hovering over the individual management indicator will give a business excellence prompt and the management indictors can be customised to the organisation’s goals.Clicking on the traffic light globe allows the red, amber or green selection with the previous assessments shown underneath
But BizPulse is more than an assessment tool. The notes section helps ensure that the knowledge is never lost, along with ideas for action and growth. The task section allows a number of tasks for each indicator and for those tasks to be allocated to a team member. The system then tracks that the task has been done – or not. That’s good delegation and good leadership.
As the assessment takes place the system allocates a score so that accessing the score report will show whether or not the organisation is in balance. The score on the screen is taken from the export template
There a range of reports with this position summary report being one of the most valuable as it can be used for communicating both internally to teams and shareholders but also externally to investors and even when tendering for contracts to show compliance and improvement.
An organisation can have more than one template which then allows for a drill-down impact. For example this is the compliance template – ideal for being evidential when bidding for contracts or to show board members best practice in governance and compliance.
The members dashboard of the hub is the access point to 8 learning and support zones each containing a constantly growing wealth of videos and resources. The zones connect with all the elements of The Executive Boardroom and the content is constantly refreshed.
Click on the Knowledge zone and you have access to a collection of skills areas each addressing a vital aspect of the business of business and each with its own short and incisive videos and resources
The scorecard zone is focused on helping you not only to use a scorecard but also in improving in the various management indicators across the four perspectives of balanced business scorecard. For example click on people and teams
And you’ll arrive at a special selection of videos and resources to help manage, measure and motivate people
