Grigor Khachatryan is an Armenian artist born in 1952 in Yerevan. He graduated from the PIY Art and Culture department in 1985. From 1985-1987 he was the head of the department of exposition at the Museum of Modern Art. Since 1990 he has been awarding his own "Grigor Khachatryan Award" through various performance art pieces. He has exhibited widely both in Armenia and abroad since the 1980s. His work focuses on performance and conceptual art dealing with themes of politics, society and the body.
