The engineering firm Ringway has been using a special eco-friendly tarmac called "foambase" on roads and footpaths in Lincolnshire that reduces CO2 emissions and costs less than traditional techniques. Foambase is mixed and laid cold and is better for the environment than hot asphalt as it cuts emissions by 55-65% and costs around 45% less. The recycled materials used in foambase are reused from demolition sites in Lincolnshire, keeping transportation and related emissions low within the county.
