Public Law (PL) 106-107: Federal Financial Assistance Management Improvement Act of 1999 to: Improve the effectiveness and performance of Federal financial assistance program Simplify Federal financial assistance application and reporting requirements Improve the delivery of services to the public

Some sponsors (e.g., NIH, NOAA) currently use Grants.gov; some (e.g., NSF) are still in transition. Eventually, all Federal granting agencies will  require the submission of proposals via Grants.gov.
UW – OSP GRANTS.GOV TRAINING Sponsor and Program Announcement dictate which form is used.  The look and feel of the forms are almost identical. Search and Download processes remain the same Downloaded packages will open in either Adobe or Pure Edge. Pure Edge / Adobe formats

Getting Started: GRANTS.GOV Info One time start up requirement Users must download PureEdge Viewer software via Grants.gov website at:  http://www.grants.gov/DownloadViewer For NIH proposals, PI must have an active account in the NIH ERA Commons.  Contact your Department Administrator or OSP Administrator to request an NIH ERA account.

The need to open and review required forms separately has been eliminated in the Adobe format.   Pure Edge / Adobe formats
