Pirates and Privateers Reading A-Z book provides information about pirates and asks students to summarize what they've learned. Specifically, it asks students to describe how pirates lived and discuss two famous pirates. The document previews vocabulary, guides students in reading strategies, and has them practice fluency before writing a summary of how pirates' lives are often romanticized today but in reality involved crime and violence. Students are then assigned to turn in their summary and read pages 8-9 aloud.
